About us!
This Organization was started by Craig Balunsat,
in an attempt to record, archive and make available, family records
and information before it becomes lost to future generations.
Alex Balunsat is the last living survivor of his
generation.
It is hoped that this site will be of use to Balunsat's
around the globe who become interested in it's history and origins.
Project Objectives are as follows, but not limited to:
- To identify others who are related.
- To discover early ancestors.
- To connect known branches of the family.
- Prove or disprove theories regarding our
ancestors.
- Identify and isolate genes peculiar to the Gaddang
Tribe of the Philippines.
- Trace any European descent to points of origin in
Europe.
- Solve brick walls in our research.
- Determine a location for further research.
- Validate existing research.
- Trace the genes related to the incidence of
missing lateral incisor tooth in some individuals.
- Discover the impact of DNA on our family's social
and genetic makeup.
- To spark interest in Balunsat's everywhere,
in an attempt to bring family members together (both past and
present).
- We encourage family members, no matter how
distant, to participate.
- We invite anyone who is interested to join!

BALUNSAT GROUP PROJECT Headed up by Alex Balunsat.
Results from DNA samples from members will be posted as they
become available.
The Y-chromosome is passed from father to son unchanged,
except for the occasional mutation. Testing the Y-chromosome
will provide you with a genetic finger print consisting of 12, 25, 37,
or 67 numbers. By comparing this finger print to others with your surname,
you can determine if they are related.
Group discount on DNA Marker Tests for tracing genealogy are
available.
